Great Game! - Next One is Tuesday, Oct 2

Filed under: Uncategorized — The Fates @ 8:30 am

Thank you everyone who made the last game!

The wine merchant and Bart were presented to the magistrates of the city to stand trial. Cantara, the woman who came to town, she says, to purchase a store, testified against the wine merchant, presenting the note the two had struggled over in the street.

The young squire who insists on defending the merchant argued with the Captain of the Guard, and thus delayed his entrance to the trial. Arriving after Cantara gave her condemning testimony, and just as the magistrate was handing down his verdict, the young squire charged in, loudly proclaiming the merchant’s innocence.

Seizing the opportunity created by the Squire’s timely entrance on behalf of his fellow prisoner, Bart leapt forward, using the chains that bound him to take a spectator prisoner. His victim was a young woman who leaned upon a staff, and who had come to the proceedings, like many others, simply to watch the trials. With his chains wrapped tightly around the woman’s neck, Bart threatened to break her neck if people did not clear an escape path for him. It was a bold and foolish move in a room full of knights, with the King and Queen both present, and might have gotten both Bart and the woman killed. Lord Saryn, aware that cutting down the prisoner while the chain was still around her neck could easily kill the woman, signaled his men to move with caution. The advantage, after all, was theirs. Silent signals passed between Saryn, the king and the queen, and the queen began to cast.

Bart, seeing the runes being spelled in the air, and having enough experience to know that breaking a mage’s concentration will break a spell, tried to protect himself from this new danger by spitting in the queen’s face, but the young squire who had provided the opportunity for his escape also foiled it. Catching the spittal on his blade, the squire allowed the queen to complete the magic which bespelled Bart into peacefully obeying the queen’s request that he release the girl. Saryn and his knights quickly closed in on this desperate and foolish man.

While the crowd rushed to subdue Bart or aide the young woman he’d taken prisoner the real “king’s road killer” struck again. As the body of Lady Amanda fell lifelessly to the ground bedlam broke out in the room.

Had anyone seen the killer strike or had all eyes been on the prisoner who threatened to murder, and did not? Had the young woman, whose only crime seems to be wanting to know if the killer was really caught, been injured by the prisoner’s actions against her? Will the squire be able to save the wine merchant’s life? Will the murder of Lady Amanda clear Bart? Is Bart really innocent? Or was a copy cat killer in the room?

Next game is next Tuesday.

Remember, it is never too late to join the game.

If you don’t mind dying, put live or die in your handle or tag.

Characters in this game who die, and wish to return to life, can always get games out of quests to find a way to bring them back, or games from life in the “after life.” If, of course, you’re brave enough to journey in what exists after this life.

Game is at 6:30 CST.

King’s Road Game-Tuesday, Sept 11, 2007-Crusadia

Filed under: Uncategorized — The Fates @ 11:51 am

Hello again everyone!
We have a game that starts at 6:30 central time on Tuesday.
(For you time-challenged folks that is 4:30 Pacific Time, 5:30 Mountain Time, and 7:30 Eastern Time. For you English its freaking late/early - but come anyway. You can nap during work the next day. *G* )

We’re going to try to keep OOC (out of character if you are new to all of this) to before or after the game, or pm’s or the Visitor Center. A lot of old friends from the original Nia’s have been reuniting in the room, which is awesome, but its thrown two games off now, so we have to tone it down now.

If you are new, come on in. The game premise is simple and is set up for anyone to play any time they want. A serial killer is wandering the city. We have numerous suspects, the king’s men are looking for the killer, vigilante types are looking for him, people are falsely accusing one another.

Note - in regards to playing when you want. You can play to this story line whether it is an official scheduled game or not.

Example:

Valerie the Vampire, Lancelot who likes Lances A Lot, and Dora the Dishwasher all want to play on Thursday. Dora has decided she is willing to be a victim and has put “live or die” in her heading. Lance wants to save people. Valerie is hungry. They get together on Wednesday night and play. Valerie kills Dora, Lance finds the body, but doesn’t catch Valerie in the act.

That is “one more apparent victim”, and it fits into the King’s Road Game, even though we weren’t all there. Just drop Dave and Sky a note so we can weave it into the Tuesday game gossip, and you may want to put it up on the forums.

Nia’s Tavern is officially just out of Crusadia, but - the king and queen own it - (which makes Alexander pretty sure it is his jurisdiction, and Nia totally uncaring either way) so….. if you are playing in there, what you do in there will tie back to the games in Crusadia.

Remember - if we do not see “live or die” in your tag, we’ll assume you really don’t want your character attacked.

If we do see that, we’ll assume that if we are good enough to kill you, you’re dead. :)

NOTE: Any character that dies in our games CAN be brought back - but we WILL get a game out of the process. (A quest to a cleric or something.)
